The strength and duration of the flame is controllable. Camera was approx. 2 1/2 mtr. à 3 mtr. above the ground.
Four small conveyor belts to pour the beans… and the T-rex to make the turning.
We tried a full blown spiral into the lens and a kind of Milky Way saucer shape…
“Shot in a cut away mug. Camera rotates on it’s axis. T-Rex. Dolly in”.
Granules floating on surface penetrated by a stream of water
Water and granules mixing to become liquid
Hot water makes the mix cloudy immediately. These two tests were made with cold(-ish) water.
As if the coffee is being stirred but without the spoon. Light liquid grows slightly darker in the vortex. (tight?)
The amount of vortex is controllable as is the kind of foam. The vortex is made with a magnetic stirrer.
Camera looking along a surface of coffee as it is penetrated by a stream of milk coming from 45 degrees causing visual drama…
A stream of milk penetrates the coffee from above and spreads out after entry… Tank shot from the side…
This could be done using a speaker or shot outside the cut-away mug…
45 degree top shot. Coloured liquid and white foam…
Foam…
This shot actually was used in the Nescafé Gold commercial, not a Classic commercial as was planned.
Black & white collide under water…

Two aquaria at … 50cm. wide x 10cm. deep x 28cm. high
“Conveyor belts & T-Rex”.
Is this a top shot?
Continuation of 51 with the addition of brown sugar…
Powder and water MIX, in a glass…
We used an glass cut open at the side and two funnels, one for pouring hot water and one for adding foam. I have the feeling we’re a bit wide, but this system might work?
(These 3 tests show a possible approach to this shot).
We hope to be able to make this shot in the same way as Classic Crema shot 48. We will pay special attention to the foam and texture guidelines from the PPM.
Roll over to view the product name…
We made a few foam tests before concentrating on the sfx testing. We have a large variety of different foams…
