PHYSICAL MODEL MAKING
Realistic models
Realistic models for photography and film, including industrial style prototypes and dummys. These models are often over-sized to facilitate macro-filming, or they may be “generic” models, to avoid copyright conflicts. “Realistic” models come in two kinds – industrial products or illusionistic fake objects. We regularly employ 3D printing to achieve our models.

VIZ makes different kinds of models and realistic maquettes for use in photography. Sometimes used as the basis for image manipulation, or sometimes used as a generic product in a product comparison concept. Photography was for many years the principal reason for model-making, to be overtaken recently by model-making for high-speed film.

ViZ has made illustrations for articles and for advertising using physical models. Not only do we make caricatures, but we also make illustrations using real world objects such as tea, or speaker boxes etc. We design our animatronic characters.
Character design
Models and puppets as characters… sometimes caricatures. This page shows a selection of characters that VIZ has developed through the years, with a little background information. Some models are static, for photography, some are animatronic, for use in film or commercials.

VIZ makes food models for use in commercials, photography and displays. Chocolate cannot stand the heat of the lights; or available food product may be out of season or of poor quality. Here are some examples of food-models made and used for high-speed film for advertising.
